Ronald Dean Umbright, 71, of Bloomington died at 6:19 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 4, 2011) at his residence.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday (August 9, 2011) at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, with the Rev. Vaughn Hoffman officiating. Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 31, 1940, in Bloomington, to George William Umbright Sr. and Viola Thompson Umbright. He married Linda Durham on Jan. 10, 1970.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Umbright; children, Brian (Jennifer) Umbright of Naperville, and Kimberly (Lowell) Ingram of Machesney Park; six grandchildren, Connor, Lauren, Michael and Grant Umbright and Daniel and Henry Ingram; and siblings, Kay (Lloyd) Watkins of Bloomington, and George W. (Emmie) Umbright Jr. of the state of Washington.
His parents and two granddaughters, Amanda and Emily preceded him in death.
Ronald served in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Bloomington High School. He worked for Emmett Scharf Electric Co. for 38 years and was a longtime member of I.B.E.W. Local 197.
He will be sadly missed.
